4 places to spend V-Day on a budget

THERE'S no reason to break the bank this Valentine's season for the ones you love especially since there are affordable alternatives. Take your partner out for a date to any of these four places in the city that we have sorted out for you to enjoy the week even on a budget.

Museo Dabawenyo

If you find yourself thirsty for knowledge of the city's roots and culture, this is where you and your partner would like to be. The museum has been around for years and has welcomed tourists and locals who seek for the origins of Davao City and its people.

Inside, you would discover the native dwellers of then undivided Davao, the eleven tribes and their ways of life, and other historic accounts that made the city what it is today.

It's a go-to spot for geeks.

Botanical Garden in Marfori

For the green thumbs, this is your glory place. Opened late last year, the Botanical Garden in Marfori is a sight for sore eyes in the metro. Its lush flora and fauna display are an initiative of the City Environment and Natural Resources Office.

After feasting your eyes, you can go dine at the restaurants near it (hint: Caitlyn's Dumpling Bar and Yolk's Flower Cafe are just a walking distance).

People's Park

Located in Poblacion Street, People's Park is one of the biggest recreational park in the city. Strolling around the wide walking area that's surrounded with huge trees holding hands with your lovey-dovey is a sweet gesture everyone wants to experience.

Roxas Night Market

Now if you have a long wishlist for today, this is the one place you would go. The Roxas Night Market is a melting pot for everything say, manicure, massage, shopping, or dining- you can find it here.
BBQ stalls are everywhere inside the area and some vendors get really creative just to catch the attention of customers, so enjoy roaming around the place!

If you still got nothing in mind, well, maybe you just need to take your date for a simple dinner where you had your memorable moments together. Or maybe just a greeting will do. Whatever effort that comes from a special someone is definitely remembered and appreciated.
