THE tourism masterplan of the Davao City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) is targeted to be completed by the third quarter of 2018.
At present, the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (Tieza) is on its pre-procurement stage as of the first week of February.
Before the official master planning, CTOO head Generose Tecson said their office would first consult with the private sectors and the City Government in order to agree on the proper branding of Davao tourism.
Since it is now on the pre-procurement stages, the masterplan can already be up for bidding anytime.
Tecson said they hope that by the second quarter of the year, the master planning will eventually start already.
"We want consultations as to what we really want to happen, so we can get the right situation of Davao City with regards to tourism and where we want to go. We want to know the proper branding for Davao tourism. We would also know what we should do first, what support activities should we do so we can attain our objectives," said Tecson.
If the master planning is to start by April, she said the tourism masterplan of Davao City will be completed by the third quarter of 2018.
In a separate interview with Tecson, she said a P10-million budget was allotted by Tieza for the creation of the Davao City Tourism master plan.
She said the master plan is targeted to lure in more tourists in the city.
