Cops lauded for exceptional response

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Eight police officers in the City of San Fernando were recognized by the local government, through its City Police Station, for their diligent effort and timely response in different crime incidents reported in January.

The awarding was led by Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago, Vice-Mayor Jimmy Lazatin, councilors Nelson Lingat and Harvey Quiwa together with Deputy Chief of Police Police Chief Inspector Philip John Pineda.

PO3 Edwin Abad, PO2 Rio Basilio and PO2 Dandy Garcia were awarded for arresting a Bulgarian national named Ivaylo Sashov Galabov who was caught in the act of ATM skimming on January 3, 2018 at the vicinity of BPI Family Bank in Barangay San Agustin.

The joint efforts of SPO1 Jaime Fredeluces, Jr., PO1 Eric Ronald Garcellano, PO3 Pablito Estoque, Jr. together with Traffic Enforcer Monico Baluyut Sta. Ana were lauded for successfully responding to a robbery at Beauche International Beauty Product on January 27, 2018 in Barangay Sto. Rosario. This resulted to the arrest of a Paul Lawrence Aragon Baun, a resident of Floridablanca town.

On the same day, two minors were also arrested after being caught in the act of dismantling carnapped motorcycles at the tail dike in Barangay San Pedro Cutud. The successful operation was conducted by Fredeluces, Jr., PO1 Edemjor Podrido, PO1 Jessie Dela Peña together with Barangay Peace Security officers Rinnie Pacal and Edgardo Casimiro who were also awarded by the local government.

Santiago congratulated all the awardees for their commitment to duty and for their contributions to ensure the safety and security of Fernandinos.

“Ipinagmamalaki ko ang ating mga kapulisan at mga law enforcers dito sa syudad dahil sa kanilang tapat na serbisyong publiko. I guarantee that there are no syndicated crimes in our city,” he said. (PR)
