Village official in Zambo nabbed in drug bust

THE police authorities have arrested a village official in a drug bust operation in an east coast village of Zamboanga City.

Police Station 6 chief Nonito Asdai identified the arrested as Jonash Jubaira, 35, the treasurer of Tugbungan village.

Asdai said operatives of the Station Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force arrested Jubaira in a drug bust on Tuesday afternoon at Purok 6 in the village of Tugbungan.

Asdai said the SAIDSOTF operatives confiscated from Jubaira’s possession seven sachets of suspected shabu, a caliber .38 revolver with four ammunition, marked money, and two identification cards.

He said the suspect was detained while appropriate charges are set to be filed against him.

Tugbungan Village chief Agustin Graciano Jr. said he is not aware of Jubaira’s personal activities.

Graciano said he will require all personnel under his office to undergo drug test to ensure they are not into the use of prohibited drugs.
