SIXTEEN wanted individuals were arrested and 1,762 residents were profiled by local authorities in identified barangays in Davao City during their Oplan Bulabog early Wednesday morning, February 14.
Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesperson Police Senior Inspector Ma. Teresita Gaspan said Thursday that the operation is designed to clear urban communities of possible presence of criminals and terrorist.
The series of operation resulted in the identity check and profiling of 1,762 residents wherein 1,644 persons produced their IDs and 118 failed to do so.
A total of 16 wanted persons with standing warrants of arrest for various serious criminal cases were apprehended and were identified as Louie Gutierres Margate (theft); Krizell Apdalis Emani for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165 of Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act, and Jonathan Jakosalim Geronda for RA 7610 Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
Others nabbed during the operation were Jino Quijano Banate (murder); Sarurnino Cabañero Parba (RA 9262 or The Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004); Leonardo Prado Salcedo (PD 1602 for illegal gambling); Jonathan Bosquit Alolor, Manuel E Betil, and Ruel C. Gabaisin (PD 1602); Christopher Macahine Basoc (PD 1602); Melmar Nuda Barosa (PD 1602); Loida Juyad (violation of SSS Law); Glenda Mejorada Mercado (violation of Batas Pambansa Bilang 22, two counts); Dennis Q. Perez (PD 1602); Diego Jonar Tagum Mansilacan (violation of Liquor Ban); and Jefferson Mejares Rocero (tumults and other disturbances of public order under paragraph 2 and Article 3 of the Revised Penal Code).
The operations transpired around 6 a.m. through the joint forces of law enforcement agencies in the city.
