Bautista: Fab four in February

JUST imagine a weekend with four parties to attend to. That's the way and in this way.

Just this time, I head out from Baguio to Manila for a meeting. A late one at that. It was nine in the evening. It lasts till one the next day. February 9.

I excused myself from the meeting and mentioned I will be with my son who is celebrating his 22nd. We head out to BGC. At that time, we instead just head back to my hotel at the Ascott. We slept at four after some midnight snacking of chicken wings.

At seven that morning, we went to the breakfast buffet. I enjoyed the cheesy beef and the tandoori fish, yes for breakfast. Soon after, we parted ways with my son as I had an important meeting at nine, of the 9th.

It lasted till lunch. We were served salad greens with blue cheese, some veggie soup and slow cooked beef then dessert. I requested for a late check out, as it was already almost two and had another meeting at three in PLDT. It was three for me. Yehey.

Here, I had no space for food anymore. I see some familiar faces. We soon said our goodbyes after some selfies and groupies. I asked to be dropped over by a friend at the tailors nearby for some fitting. Well it did not fit, anymore. I had had my suit made last year and all before all this.

We all meet up by five with my son and soon, mom. She as usual had gone to a travel expo for our next family vacation. I know you know we just had one or came from one and now planning for another one. We find one. Surprise.

Off we were to escape freaky Friday traffic. It was dinner time by that time. We stopped at Army Navy before heading towards Anvaya Cove in Morong, Bataan. It is here where all the fun begins.

We celebrated two birthdays on this day, my son and my brother in law. There was pizza and chicken from S&R in Subic. Still full, I just had cognac to set it all down. We sat with my brother and his wife till midnight before saying our greetings. Another birthday, number three. I sleep at three.

For breakfast, we were greeted with our favorites of spam and tender juicy hotdogs by the celebrant. Two cakes were brought out, one was carrot the other chocolate. Candles lit, blown and wishes made. It was now lunch. I wouldn't want to eat anymore. I opt to sleep it off.

We were informed of a secret beach spot just nearby from where we were. We walk. It was beautiful. Just us. Away from the maddening crowd just nearby in another beach, where everyone shells out P600 with a P300 consumable. Ours was free.

We stay until the sun comes down. We take a swim before heading back for dinner. Mussels were prepared for this. As usual, drinks were brought out for this, we continue on again till three.

Dad was to celebrate next. It was Sunday. Before everyone else, we decided to go back to our own beach. Here we wandered even further and saw the sights. Lots of wildlife. Untouched.

We were asked to be back for lunch for dad. All 24 of us excluding yayas and drivers.

This was the Anvaya home of a cousin who lent it out to us for the weekend for four reasons. Four birthdays.

A surprise lunch was prepared by her for us. She drove all the way from Clark to meet us for this. There was paella negra and paella pinoy, baked salmon and salad plus chicharon. She must have prepared it the whole night. Surprise she says. Dad is her ninong, my wife her classmate, our kids the same age. Both of us the same age.

It was supposed to have ended then. Everyone had the Monday to contend with. It did not end. Wine was out. Cakes were lit again. Meetings were moved to a later time. My brother had to cancel his meeting at five from this. He wouldn't have made it anyway. Maybe he also didn't want to leave from all this fun.

By three, some head out to Manila including my dad and my brother. In a van to Baguio is my youngest sister with all in tow. Another also left with her fam right after. I stay behind. We catch up with my cousin with some drinks. We finish everything up.

Her sons call on her, I tell her to leave her own home and leave everything to us. We clean up a bit before cleaning up too. It was seven by then. We decide to eat in Clark. The mall closes at nine.

We went home. End of days. It is dark and late at night but no one is complaining. My son decides to come up too, I cancel my Monday meeting in Manila for this. All complete and in Baguio we continue on. 4 days and 4 parties it now was. I thought that it would never end. This was a FAB FOUR in February for us.
