A 31-year-old woman was arrested during a buy-bust operation in Sitio Rattan, Barangay Tangke, Talisay City on Thursday night.
The suspect was identified as Marry Grace G. Seguisabal, a resident of the barangay.
A team of Drug Enforcement Unit operatives led by Police Insp. Inar Vic Florce recovered shabu weighing 21.85 grams, which had an estimated street value of P142,500.
Also recovered from the suspect was P2,150 believed to be proceeds of the illegal activity.
Police Insp. Marlu Conag said that Seguisabal is a pusher who got her illegal drugs from Jayme “Imot” Medilo. Conag said that Medilo was their main target during the buy-bust operation but he escaped when he sensed he was transacting with a police agent.
The recovered evidences from Medilo during the operation were shabu weighing about 2.5 grams, with an estimated street value of P12,500.
The suspects were charged with possession and selling of drugs. Seguisabal is now detained in Talisay City Police, while Medilo is still at large.
Meanwhile, two suspected pushers were caught in a series of drug busts in Liloan town, northern Cebu last Thursday night.
Chief Insp. Randy Korret, the town police commander, identified the suspects as Jefferson “Doyok” Igido Tagalog, 31, and Edu Ambil Bonghanoy, 31.
Seized from the suspects were 24 packs of white crystals believed to be shabu. The contraband is worth P19,500, a Dangerous Drugs Board value.
Tagalog was caught by the anti-narcotics operatives in Barangay Jubay, while Bonghanoy was captured in Sitio Colorado Dos, Jubay.
Operatives also confiscated two marked P500 bills used in the drug busts and P1,500 in different denominations believed to be the suspects’ proceeds in their illegal activities. (KAL & Aubrey Rose Secuya, USJ-R Intern)
