POTENTIAL buyers of secondhand vehicles are advised to have the unit checked by the Highway Patrol Group (HPG) after authorities flagged down a car that is on the Wanted and Stolen Vehicle List.
Last Friday, the HPG spotted a Mitsubishi Montero with an improvised plate, which is a violation.
Upon verification, they found out that the vehicle is “hot.” Its current owner surrendered it to the HPG, while the vehicle will be turned over to its rightful owner.
Senior Insp. Michael Gingoyon, chief of the HPG-Cebu Province team, said that would-be buyers should first secure a Motor Vehicle Clearance from their office to verify the authenticity of the vehicle’s certificate of registration and official receipt. (JOB)
