At 9:30 p.m., the anti-narcotics operatives led by Senior Inspector Genesis Aniversario arrested Cyril Shane Ybañez, 24, and cousin Ronie Velasco, 37, in Purok Rambo, Barangay Babag, Lapu-Lapu City.
Chief Inspector Mark Gifter Sucalit, the City Intelligence Branch commander, said the team seized 22 small packs of white crystals believed to be "shabu" (methamphetamine hydrochloride) from the suspects.
The contraband weighed 1.1 gram worth P12,980, a Dangerous Drugs Board value. A marked P500 bill, a canister and P550 in cash were also confiscated.
In Sitio Balibali, Barangay Poblacion, Compostela, the team led by Senior Inspector Junafe Vergara, captured Dante Duran at 11:50 p.m. who yielded two small packs of shabu, two hand-rolled tin foil, three marked bills worth P100 and motorcycle.
Duran, 34, Velasco and Ybañez will face complaints for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Selling dangerous drugs is a non-bailable offense. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
