Motorcycle driver dies in Oslob road accident

A MOTORCYCLE driver died while his passenger was injured in an accident at 2 p.m. Monday, February 19, in Barangay Calumpang, Oslob, Cebu.

Police Officer 3 Albert Almario, Oslob police desk officer, identified the fatality as Bryan Omiping Basay.

He was brought to Oslob District Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival by the attending doctor.

The injured passenger, Justin Daclan Nuñez, was transferred to a hospital in Cebu City.

Investigation showed the motorcycle, driven by Basay, was traveling fast going to Santander.

Basay lost control of the motorcycle and hit steel railings. Basay and Nuñez were thrown off the vehicle.

Almario said the motorcycle would have fell off the cliff, which is about 30 feet from the road, if there were no railings. (Kevin Lagunda/SunStar Cebu)
