6 members of Akyat Bahay gang arrested

CAMP OLIVAS -- Six suspected Akyat Bahay members, including two minors, were arrested while illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, as well as various identification cards (IDs) and passports were confiscated during a drug bust conducted by police in Angeles City over the weekend.

Joint operatives of Angeles City Police Drug Enforcement Unit and Angeles City Police Station arrested Dennis Laxamana, 38, and Marlon Acuna, 34, both Angeles City residents; Abelardo Galang, 32, of Magalang town; Shanice Canasa, 24; and two minors.

Confiscated from them were four heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, one white Honda sedan with plate number WCV802, P1,000 marked money, numerous IDs and Philippine passports owned by different persons.

According to Angeles police, the group was allegedly involved in a series of robberies and break-in incidents in Angeles City and nearby towns.

Police filed in court possession of illegal drugs against the suspects. (Ric Sapnu)
