Benguet State ready for Cordillera athletic meet

BENGUET State University is all set to host the 2015 Cordillera Administrative Region Association of State Universities and Colleges (Carasuc) athletic meet in December.

At least a thousand athletes are competing in the annual meet.

Benguet State Athletic Director Eduardo Laconsay said the school has finished all the requirements for the event.

“We are ready, in fact we are already polishing the hosting and the school is very much optimistic it will hold the week-long activity to a good success,” Laconsay told Sun.Star Baguio.

rHe said Benguet State has the facilities for athletics, basketball, volleyball, sepak takraw, badminton, chess, taekwondo, arnis, lawn tennis, table tennis, soccer, and softball.

Benguet State is the meet’s defending champion, collecting 53 gold, 38 silver, and 15 bronze medals.

Apayao, last year’s host, finished second and Mountain Province Polytechnic College State College third.

The top athletes from Carasuc will represent Cordillera in next year’s Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (Pasuc) national athletic finals.
