Stephen Speaks at Ayala

ONE may wrap up the month of love with a heart-tugging concert from Stephen Speaks. The American acoustic-pop rock band behind some of the most romantic songs to hit airwaves will be playing live at the Ayala Center Cebu Activity Center on Sunday at 6 p.m. This event is in partnership with JB Music.

Stephen Speaks enjoyed immense popularity in the Philippines, with its best known songs “Passenger Seat” and “Out of My League” topping local charts in 2001. Its debut album “No More Doubt” was eventually certified platinum in 2003. Behind the band is singer-songwriter Rockwell Ryan Ripperger, who frequently performs with his brother, Dain Samuelson, on percussion. He has also collaborated with renowned producer Chad Copelin and Grammy-nominated artist Ryan Tedder.

After “Symptoms of Love” in 2008 and “Age of the Underdog” in 2011, Stephen Speaks is back with its fourth studio album, “Alive to Fight,” which will be released this year. The first single “Walk On” debuted last month.

Stephen Speaks is currently on its Philippine tour and recently completed a benefit concert for the Marawi soldiers.

Admission to the Stephen Speaks concert is free. (PR)
