A BIG-TIME illegal drug supplier, who claimed to be a son of a policeman, was arrested for selling nearly P400,000 worth of illegal drugs in a drug bust on Tuesday, February 20, along Corrales-Chavez streets.
Police identified the suspect as 20-year-old Lahmoden Ampuan from Tarak, Lanao del Sur.
Ampuan told the police that he is a son of a Senior Police Officer 4 (SPO4) assigned in Saguiaran town police station in Lanao del Sur province.
The police, however, said they will still verify and confirm Ampuan’s claim.
Authorities seized from the Ampuan some 55 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as "shabu," a cellphone and his service vehicle during the drug buy bust.
Senior Inspector Maricris Mulat, chief of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), said Ampuan is a high value target (HVT) considering the volume of the crystal meth confiscated from his possession.
"Pag more than 50 grams ang makuha upon arrest ma-consider na nga HVT. Iyang claim nga iyang papa is active police amo pang i-verify kay lain man to nga region," Mulat said.
Mulat said the suspect used to dispose large quantity of shabu to his sub-group dealers in Cagayan de Oro, who also have down line street pushers.
The CDEU chief said the suspect had long been monitored by the anti-drug operatives.
"Moanhi siya dinhi mag-round trip lang siya kay igo ra siya mag-dispose. Naay nakasumbong sa ato about sa iyang transactions mao ato siyang gi-monitor," Mulat said.
"Dagko man iyang disposal. Dinagko sad iyang kita ani. Kato tanan mahalin moabot og P400,000," she added.
The suspect is now detained and is facing charges for selling and possession of illegal drugs.
Mulat said the suspect cannot post bail.
