Man shot dead in Talisay City

A MAN was shot to death by unidentified men at Purok Tumpok, Barangay Zone 15 in Talisay City, Negros Occidental early Thursday morning, February 22.

Police identified the fatality as Audie Tando, 38, of Barangay Zone 4.

Personnel of Talisay City Police Station received a call for assistance from a village councilman after residents heard gunfire around 2 a.m.

Tando was found inside a house at 3:30 a.m. with multiple gunshot wounds. His body was subjected for an autopsy.

Police recovered from the scene four fired cartridge cases, empty bottles of liquor, empty sachets of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride), and drug paraphernalia.

Investigation showed the victim was having a drinking session with his cousins before the incident. However, his cousins were no longer inside the house when authorities arrived.

Superintendent Adonis Rosales, city police chief, said the incident might be drug-related and triggered by a possible failed transaction.

Rosales said they already have persons of interest.

Authorities were also trying to identify the owner of the house, where the victim was found.
