Drug suspect killed in shootout

A 31-YEAR-OLD drug personality died at 4:20 p.m. Monday, February 26, in an alleged shootout with police in Sitio Kanipaan, Barangay Pooc, Talisay City, Cebu.

Police identified the fatality as Agustin Lastimado, who was identified as a high-value target.

Three of the suspect's alleged cohorts were arrested by the operatives led by Superintendent Marlu Conag, the city police chief.

Before the shootout happened, Lastimado was the subject of the drug bust.

The suspect allegedly drew out his gun after sensing he was dealing with police.

No policeman was hit in the encounter.

Lastimado was brought to Talisay City District Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.

The police seized Lastimado's .45 pistol and 25 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride locally known as shabu. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
