AIRASIA revealed a possible chocolate-infused dish coming on its in-flight “Santan” menu this April. During the official launch of Season Two of its “AirAsia RedTalks with Daphne” web series, the airline gave guests a sneak peek of its pilot episode “Sweet Connections” in a hip and happening press party at the Twilight Roofdeck of Bai Hotel in Cebu.
RedTalks is a collaboration between multi-awarded TV host, producer, entrepreneur, blogger and UNICEF special advocate Daphne Oseña-Paez and AirAsia to create a series of travel web episodes shot around Asia that features different places that each has its own story to tell. Its first season premiered in AirAsia’s Facebook page last year and is said to have gained notable online engagement.
In “Sweet Connections,” Daphne travels to Davao with “rock star chef” JP Anglo—known for his skill in creating new and edgy Filipino-inspired dishes—where they visit the award-winning Malagos Chocolates, which they talked about incorporating into AirAsia’s “Santan” in-flight menu this April.
“For this new season, we aim to raise the level of discussion and cover a wide range of topics to engage our audience and inspire them to have meaningful connections,” said Oseña-Paez. Not only were there different media members and bloggers from Manila, Cebu and Davao—AirAsia Philippines chairperson Maan Hontiveros, AirAsia Philippines chief executive officer Captain Dexter Comendador and AirAsia Foundations’s executive director Mun Ching Yap were also among those who attended the press gathering.
“AirAsia is a sociable and innovative brand. We embrace social media not only to engage our fans but also to inspire and connect with our guests. With RedTalks, we are bringing back the era of TV and magazine shows to an online audience with a refreshing approach using a platform that has become so effective and popular,” said Comendador.
