CLARK FREEPORT -- To complement the various developments inside this
Freeport, the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) have earmarked P925 million for infrastructure projects of the state-owned firm here and its immediate environs.
In a report presented to CDC President-CEO Noel Manankil, it was stated that the 2018 projects are intended to complement the development of the New Clark City, the Clark International Airport and the Clark Freeport Zone (CFZ) as a whole.
The planned infrastructure projects are envisioned to help ensure smooth
traffic flow at major entry-exit points here in the future.
One of the improvement projects include the development of Manuel A. Roxas Highway which was estimated at P325 million. The plan calls for asphalt overlay of the widened portions in order to preserve its cemented pavement base as well as the widening of the Berthaphil junction to CM Recto Highway near Midori Hotel.
The state-owned firm also plans to infuse P200 million for the enhancement of parade grounds and parks here. The renovation of barn houses, creation of tree houses, preservation and beautification of trees in the parks and construction of an illuminated bike path are also included.
Accordingly, CDC plans to construct a P90 million multi-purpose event
center and gymnasium that will host various shows and sporting activities inside Clark.
Also in the pipeline is the widening of Clark-Mabalacat-Angeles Road (CMAR) and the construction of access road from Mabiga-CMAR in Mabalacat City.
The state-owned firm also allotted P100 million for the detailed engineering for the Philippine Air Force area and P210 million for other
projects inside and outside the Freeport.
Improvements of vital utilities in water, power, and transportation for the benefit of both employees and locators here were also included in the
proposed programs.
This is in support in the government’s mantra of Build Build Build and the expected influx of investments and human traffic in the next five years.
