THE Department of Agriculture (DA)-Central Luzon, through Regional Executive Director Engr. Roy Abaya, thanked partner local government units and agencies for the achievement of the region in the previous year.

“Thank you to our partner local government units. We have registered 3.63 million metric tons and this was possible through the help of our municipal agriculturist and extension workers. This year, we aim to increase our production through hybridization. About 20 percent of our total budget is allotted for rice. Moreso, we continue to give assistance for farm inputs, farm machineries, farm-to-market roads, post-harvest facilities among others,” Abaya said.

The DA, in cooperation with the Provincial Government of Bataan, conducted the Bataan Municipal Agriculturist Officers meeting at the Farmers Information and Technology Services (Fits) Center at Capitol Compound, Balanga City, Bataan, recently, said Abaya.

Among the attendees were Operations Chief Benjamin Baltazar, representatives from the Agricultural Training Institute, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, and Philippine Center for Post harvest Development and Mechanization.

Bataan is composed of one city and 11 municipalities.

Meanwhile, Bataan Provincial Agriculturist Imelda Inieto invited the attendees to the Provincial Achievement Day celebration from March 14 to 16.
