Ex-cop, cockpit arena guard shot dead in Bohol

A FORMER police officer and a guard of a cockpit arena were shot dead in Barangay Totolan, Dauis, Bohol, on Thursday afternoon, March 1.

The victims were identified as Zandro Zamora, 34, a former policeman from Taloto District, Tagbilaran City; and Paterna Acuna, 48, a cockpit arena guard and resident of Barangay Fatima, Cortes, Bohol.

Police initial investigation revealed that an unidentified assailant shot Zamora twice but he managed to run and enter the second gate.

Zamora was trapped though and peppered with bullets by the gunman. He died on the spot.

Acuna, on the other hand, was also shot in her chest when she tried to block the assailant at the gate.

She was declared dead at the Ramiro Hospital in Tagbilaran City. (JOB/SunStar Cebu)
