Ely Buendia in Davao

AFTER the successful Inuman Sessions in USEP Gymnasium and Musica E Vita in Davao Crocodile Park Grounds, Bace productions will be bringing another rock music spectacle this March 10.

No other than Ely Buendia, the legendary frontman of the Eraserheads, will be headlining the self-titled concert Ely Buendia Live the Greatest Hits. Joining him are perennial crowd drawers Parokya ni Edgar and Hale.

Ely will be singing his iconic tunes, particularly during his time with the Eraserheads, who couldn't forget the band's seminal albums Ultraelectromagneticpop (1993), which catapulted the band to stardom followed by Circus (1994), which is my favorite among all E-head albums that was followed by Cutterpillow (1995), Fruitcake (1996), Sticker Happy (1997), Natin99 (1999) and Carbon Stereoxide (201).

After leaving Eraserheads in 2002, Ely busied himself with other bands such as the Mongol, Pupil, Oktaves and Apartel. The band Pupil still manages to earn commercial success with hits such as Nasaan Ka, Disconnection Notice and 20/20.

Apart from the main bands, eight indie bands from across Mindanao will be playing as front acts; these are Rock Child's Band from Ozamis City, Thorre and Perfect Average from Cagayan de Oro, Mnemosyne from Bukidnon, Guilty Party from Butuan, Eccit, Spooky Serna and Kings of July from Davao City. These bands will be given the opportunity to play their original compositions.

It's time to relive the glorious 90s this March 10 at the Crocodile Park Concert Grounds. Ticket prices are pegged at VIP P1,800 (one free drink and VIP exclusive shirt), Gold P1,000, Gen Ad P500. For inquiries you can call contact them at Facebook (facebook.com/baceproductions/). Gate opens at 4 p.m.
