Armm, Lanao ink infra project pact

THE Department of Public Works and Highways in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (DPWH-Armm) has inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with 15 local government units in Lanao del Sur for the implementation of P783.3 million projects this year.

DPWH-Armm Secretary Don Mustapha Loong said the joint undertaking between the agency and the LGUs is one of the steps of Armm to comply with the goal of President Rodrigo Duterte of implementing efficiently and within standards all 2018 infrastructure projects.

Loong emphasized that the role of the LGUs is imperative in the success of the implementation of infrastructure projects.

The LGU-beneficiaries of the projects in the first district are as follows: Lanao del Sur provincial government, P388 million; Piagapo, P33.95 million; Wao, P58.2 million; Taraka, P63.05 million; Poona Bayabao, P43.65 million; Masiu, P19.4 million; Bubong, P4.95 million; Ditsaan Ramain, P9.70 million; Mulondo, and, P19.4 million.

In the second district, the beneficiary-LGUs are the following: Ganassi, P85.3 million; Calanogas, P19.4 million; Madalum, P38.8 million; Balindong, P16.49 million; Butig, P33.95 million; and, Kapatagan, P37.38 million.

Loong said most of the beneficiary-LGUs are awardees of the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s (DILG) Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG).

The SGLG is a recognition given by the DILG to the LGUs that performed well in terms of good governance parameters.

Armm Governor Mujiv Hataman has the town mayors to immediately start the road projects and complete these before December, this year.

Hataman was referring to the Department of Budget and Management’s circular order that would revert back to the national treasury funds allocated for projects that do not meet completion deadlines.

He believes, with the MOA between DPWH-Armm and the LGUs, the infrastructure projects will be properly executed and completed within schedule.

The signing of the MOA was held on Thursday at the Provincial Capitol of Lanao del Sur. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
