Lapu councilor faces charges over eviction

LAPU-LAPU City City Councilor Rico Amores and six other people are facing criminal complaints before the Office of the Lapu-Lapu City Prosecutor for allegedly conspiring to evict a landowner from her house last May 12, 2017.

Assisted by her lawyer Ophie Easter Bragat, Lovely Anne Enad filed criminal complaints against Amores, her husband and Swedish tourist Hans Goran Gunneriusson, and four others before the City Prosecutor’s Office.

The other respondents are Emilio Manilao, Jr., Roger Keith Torralde, Florentino Olivar and a certain Jerry Boy.

They were accused of falsification by private individuals and use of falsified documents, qualified trespass to dwelling, robbery, robbery with intimidation against a person, robbery in an inhabited house and usurpation of real rights in the property.

Lawyer Glicerio Baguio was also accused separately of falsification by a notary, as well as the use of falsified documents.

Amores said he will issue an official statement tomorrow.

In her affidavit, Enad said she was surprised when police arrested her in her home for estafa last May 12, 2017.

Enad said she was unaware of the estafa case filed in court since Gunneriusson and Baguio conspired and “willfully and maliciously falsified” her estranged husband’s testimonies in the complaint.

She said the arrest warrant states she is residing in “Gilic SMPG” in Barangay Mactan, when in fact, she is presently living in Mactan Plains Subdivision in Lapu-Lapu City.

Because of the wrong address, Enad said she was unable to answer the case, which led to her indictment for estafa.

When she returned home after posting bail for estafa, Enad said she caught Olivar forcibly changing the doorknob of her house, allegedly upon the instruction of her former husband.

She also discovered that her passport, laptop, digital camera, jewelry and several travel documents were all missing.

Enad said that Councilor Amores transacted the sale of her house even without her consent.

Enad said she ended her relationship with Gunneriusson because the latter was allegedly abusive.

“I suffered emotionally and psychologically. I know he is doing with this because right from the start he wanted to control me, physically and financially,” Enad’s affidavit read. (GMD)
