TEN persons were caught on Saturday afternoon, March 3, in a series of drug busts in two villages in Danao City, Cebu.
The operatives seized 16.25 grams of white crystals believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as "shabu," with a Dangerous Drugs Board value of P191,750.
Superintendent Jaime Quiocho Jr., the city police chief, said the operation started at 4:15 p.m. and ended at 5:17 p.m. on Juan Luna St. in Barangay Poblacion and Barangay Tabac.
Anti-narcotics operatives led by Inspector Jan Ace Elcid Layug caught suspected pushers Sunyboy Gonzales Matiga, Larry Lariosa Cuenca, Michael Tejero Batulan, Jemeo Muraskalio Flores Jr. and Reggie Querobin Mangas.
Judy Sasing Juntilla, Laurente Serrano Paradiang, Teodulfo Marientes Roxas Jr., Francis Tagalog Bayang and Edzel Jay Cuizon were the alleged users caught during the drug busts.
The alleged pushers will face complaints for violating Section 5 (selling of illegal drugs) of Republic Act (RA) 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Complaints for violating Section 11 (possession of illegal drugs) of RA 9165 will be filed against the suspected drug users. (KAL)
