Costanilla: ‘Magbuwag Ta Kay...’ hits cinemas nationwide

PLAY. Last week, I saw the live staging of “Gamugamo sa Kanto ng East Avenue” at the Monterey School in San Isidro, Talisay City. I felicitate both Alex Agustin and Barbara Clemente for a job well done as directors. Except for the minor acoustic problem, the play was generally fine and entertaining.

May I also humbly suggest that the play in Filipino be translated into Cebuano for the local crowd. By the way, the actors of the production were very impressive in their respective roles. I will name them next Monday.

ENDORSEMENT. I’m strongly endorsing two special projects that my good friend Valrock Villarin Dinopol is pursuing. His Music Made in Cebu concert series as well as the Barug Visayas relief campaign deserve full public support. Dinopol is also one of the guys behind the Southwings band. I admire his passion for music and public concern.

MOVIE. I’m glad that the Visayan romance-comedy (romcom) film “Magbuwag Ta Kay...” will finally be shown in cinemas across the country starting Wednesday this week. It has Akiko Solon and Rowel Ucat a.k.a. “Medyo Maldito” as the lead stars. Producers Charles and Sunshine Lim of the LapuLapu City-based Heritage Productions must be so proud and happy over this development. Let us support this film by watching it with our family members and friends.
