BFP-Central Luzon leads observance of Fire Prevention Month

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Central Luzon, led by Senior Superintendent Jaime Ramirez, recently led the month-long regional observance of this year’s Fire Prevention Month.

Carrying the theme “Ligtas na Pilipinas ang Ating Hangad, Pag-iingat sa Sunog ay sa Sarili Ipatupad,” this year’s observation will focus on empowering the public as first responders in times of fire.

A simulation activity participated in by firemen and barangay volunteer firefighters from cities and municipalities in the region was conducted to educate and train them of the proper actions in case fire breaks out in their respective communities.

“The event aims to intensify the initiatives and implementation of innovative programs and activities that motivate and enjoin the public to take fire safety not only during Fire Prevention Month but more importantly throughout the year,” Ramirez said.

A motorcade was also held to further educate the public on fire prevention by practicing safety measures in their respective households and business establishments.

Ramirez said fire prevention campaign also intends to educate people and raise their awareness on the causes of fire and how they can prevent them.

“Due to the alarming fire incidents happening across the country during this particular period, we want to give an emphasis to the importance of community disaster preparedness,” Ramirez said.

Aside from these, City and Municipal Fire Stations are also tasked to conduct activities on fire prevention to raise awareness and disseminate fire prevention tips to various communities in Central Luzon.
