200 inmates negative of drugs

AT LEAST 200 inmates, who are facing drug cases, yielded negative results in the surprise drug test conducted at the Metro Bacolod District Jail (MBDJ)–Male Dormitory in Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City, Monday.

Of the total number, 25 of them were high-profile inmates while 25 others were dormitory representatives.

Senior Inspector Norberto Miciano, jail warden of MBDJ, said the inmates submitted their urine samples for the jail’s drug screening.

“The test was conducted to verify reports that illegal drugs are being sourced from jails,” Miciano said.

He added that the initiative is also to ensure that contrabands particularly illegal drugs do not exist inside the facility.

The drug test was witnessed by a village official. (GYM)
