Motorbike theft syndicate leader arrested

AUTHORITIES have arrested the alleged leader of a motorcycle theft syndicate in the western part of Zamboanga City, the police reported on Tuesday.

Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the suspect as Sugala Ahalul, a resident of Cawit village.

Galvez said Ahalul was arrested by the police around 3 p.m. Monday in the village of Baluno, Zamboanga City.

The police also confiscated two sachets of suspected crystal meth, locally known as shabu, from the suspect.

Galvez said Ahalul has standing warrant of arrest for violation of the Anti-Carnapping Act of 1972.

Ahalul is listed as the top most wanted person of the Zamboanga City Police Office.

She said the arrested team of lawmen confiscated from Ahalul’s possession two small-size heat sealed sachet containing suspected shabu.
