Passport on wheels won't entertain walk-ins

THOSE wishing to have their passports renewed or intend to get one are advised to submit all the necessary documents to the Davao City Administrators Office at the City Hall Wednesday, March 7, as the two-day Passport on Wheels service on March 16-17 will not be entertaining walk-ins.

The City eyes to serve around 4,000 Dabawenyos in the two-day passport on wheels program of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

Councilor Al Ryan Alejandre, in Tuesday's privilege speech at the City Council, said the program will be done in coordination with the City Administrator's Office.

"It should be noted that the requirements will still be sent to the main office for verification and thus, no walk-in applicants are allowed during March 16 and 17 for the passport on wheels program," he said.

Requirements for a new passport applicant are the duly accomplished form, the original copy of the authenticated birth certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and for females, a copy also of the marriage contract and an original photocopy of a valid identification document or ID.

Alejandre also announced that for the bearers of machine readable passports or those with maroon or green passports and those with any older passports, these will be treated as new application, so they have to submit the same requirements.

"For those who will renew ePassports, there should be a confirmed online application, accomplished application form, current ePassport with photocopy of data package and original PSA documents," he added.

For minor applicants, the requirements are accomplished application form, personal appearance of the minor and either parent or authorized adult companion, PSA birth certificate, passport or valid ID of either parent, or school ID for the new applicants.

For minors who would like to renew their passport, the requirements are: accomplished application form, personal appearance of the minor and either parent or authorized adult companion, PSA birth certificate, passport or valid ID of either parent, current passport of the applicant and school ID.

The passport fee is P1,200 and the courier fee is P150. For those who have lost or have expired passports, an additional fee of P350 shall also be required.
