NOT A PDP-LABAN. Lorna Bacalla, who insists that she is PDP-Laban Cebu City president and not Vice Mayor Edgar Labella, and her supporters called on Mayor Tomas Osmeña yesterday.
One odd thing: Tomas is BOPK head and, in the last election, was allied with the Liberal Party. Why is Bacalla pouring her heart out to Mayor Tomas when he is not even a PDP member? Any issue about PDP-Laban leadership should be raised to its party’s bigwigs, not to party outsiders or rivals. Unless, a City Hall watcher says, Bacalla is planning to defect.
Whom PAAC bites
DID YOU KNOW? Probably you didn’t know that:
The Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PAAC) is composed of President Rodrigo Duterte’s allies, most of whom are members of VACC or Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption.
Is it just coincidental that VACC personalities were the ones who filed complaints against Duterte’s “enemies” such as Sen. Leila de Lima?
The story of Sen. Tito Sotto’s “expose” of the “fraud” Smartmatic allegedly pulled in the 2016 elections is being posted and shared by some Barug Team Rama members?
Notably: Cebu City Councilor Joy Pesquera who splashed on her Facebook wall a Politico.com story about Sotto outing Smartmatic for its voting machines’ alleged “dagdag-bawas.” Joy, though, had no comment but the sharing seems to say, “We told you so.”
No jokes, cuss words
SANITIZED. A third meeting at the Palace between Duterte and NPA surrenderers last Tuesday didn’t report any distasteful joke or cuss from the President.
Two reasons: It was closed to private media; only Malacañang news crew were allowed. No transcript was issued; only a press release was sent to the media.
It didn’t mean Duterte didn’t crack jokes or swear. If he did, the public just didn’t know about it.
