POLICE have arrested six people, including a deportee, and seized close to P10,000 worth of illegal drugs in separate anti-illegal drug operations in Zamboanga City.
Arrested were Rommel Helluca, 31; Edison Muallam, 46; Mohammad Lumaglag, 24; Fhaisal Sumlahani, 38; Adzmir Ibrahim, 30; and Darvie Ethan Ramillano, 30.
Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, said Helluca and Muallam were nabbed in a drug bust around 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 8, in the village of Tetuan.
Confiscated from them were P1,400 cash, P200 marked money, one heat-sealed sachet of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P1,500, and illegal drug paraphernalia.
Galvez said Lumaglag and Sumlahani were arrested in a drug bust around 10:15 p.m. of March 8 in the village of Campo Islam, formerly known as Lower Calarian.
Seized from the duo were 12 heat-sealed sachets of suspected shabu worth P2,400, P200 marked money and a coin purse.
Ibrahim, a deportee, was turned over around 6:24 a.m. of March 8 to the Police Station 6 by the security guard of the Processing Center for Displaced Person of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
Galvez said Ibrahim was caught in possession of four heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected shabu and illegal drug paraphernalia.
Ramillano was arrested in a drug bust around 3 p.m. of March 8 in the village of Tumaga.
Galvez said Ramillano yielded three heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P6,000 and P200 marked money.
The arrested persons were detained while appropriate charges are set to be filed against them. (SunStar Philippines)
