All set for the Davao's summer festival!

IT'S all systems go the Davao Region's 2018 Visit Davao Summer Festival (VDSF).

This fifth installment of VDSF promises to bring summer fun to a whole new level. "LongFest and WideFest" is this year's theme, as the summer tourism campaign lengthens the summer with its 10-week season-long celebration and widens its coverage to seven areas with Compostela Valley (ComVal) as the newest partner of the VDFS.

The other areas are Davao City, Sta. Cruz Davao del Sur, Island Garden City of Samal (Igacos), Davao del Norte, Mati City and the province of Davao Oriental.

Sports and adventures, cultural and arts, and party leisure activities fill up the 10-week calendar. It's a chance for the visitors to experience the events, as spectator or participant, while enjoying the big discounts on accommodations, island tours, dining, shopping and spa therapies.

If you're into adrenaline-pumping events, take part in these sports: ComVal's Aquathlon, a swim and trek race, and Bubayi Climb, an all-women climb to Mt. Amakan; Igacos' Samal Marathon and Air Asia Durian Man Cross Channel Triathlon; Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur's Mt. Apo Sky and Vertical Challenge Race and Mt. Apo Boulder Face challenge.

Ride the waves and fly over sand in Mati City's National Skimboarding Competition and Ultimate Frisbee Invitational Tournament.

For nature lovers, go visit Davao Oriental's treasures-Unesco inscribed Mt. Hamiguitan, and the Philippines' highest waterfalls, Aliwagwag Falls are two of the must-see spots.

Davao del Norte pitches its bid to be the country's top agri-tourism site with its Kadagayan Festival.

In Davao City, take these tours: the Malagos Chocolate Museum, DU30 and the Philippine Eagle Wildlife, or immerse yourself in arts in culture by visiting the numerous shows scheduled throughout summer and learn how to dance in Hataw Mindanao, to be participated by contestants from all over Mindanao.
