What’s hot from city to sea

AS the soaring heat index indicates, summer is definitely here. Hotel management group Chroma Hospitality Inc. recently launched its Hello Summer campaign to roll out what its properties around the Philippines have to offer. In Cebu City, Quest Hotel and Conference Center invites guests to stay cool in the heat with a Summer Spree package for accommodation, food and beverage, and vouchers for Supernova summer collection and Islands Souvenirs. In Mactan, Crimson Resort and Spa offers some fun in the sun with the Summer Daze offer for accommodation, food and beverage, and additions like complimentary minibar items, free use of snorkeling gear, and an hour of free karaoke use at Score Sports Bar. Those who avail of either Summer Spree or Summer Daze will get the chance to win a two-night stay in partner upscale resorts in the holiday destination of Bali, Indonesia.

During the launch of Hello Summer held at the Garden Bloc of Cebu IT Park, VIPs like Department of Tourism Region 7 chief tourism operations officer Judy Gabato and Cebu Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale joined media friends and curious guests to find out what Quest Hotel and Crimson Resort have to offer. Entertainment for the evening included a pirate show by Crimson’s Crimzone performers, a musical performance by the Regla Percussionistas and an upbeat number by the Synergy Dance Crew. Mercedes Benz, the Harley Davidson Motorcycle Club Philippines, and the V-Max Owners Group Inc. wowed guests with their spectacular displays. The crowd was invited to participate in some fun games and raffle draws. Some lucky winners took home roundtrip plane tickets from AirAsia, a day pass to Crimson, overnight stay in Quest, and souvenirs from Quest and Mercedes Benz.

This writer decided to join the first game for grown-ups for who was the fastest to empty out a plastic bottle of Styrofoam beads. Using a specially controlled arm shaking technique, this writer took home a prize from Air Asia and Chroma Hospitality. I swear the game was more adrenaline-pumping than it seems on print!
