Free harelip, cleft palate medical mission to treat 150 kids

SOME 150 children born with harelip, cleft palate and other facial deformities are expected to get free surgery by maxillofacial specialists from the United States.

This will be done in a medical mission in the Perpetual Succour Hospital on Gorordo Ave., Cebu City starting today, March 12 to 16.

The weeklong free medical mission will be conducted jointly by the All-Terrain Medical Relief Organization Inc (AMRO), Perpetual Succour Hospital, Operation Restore Hope USA and Smile for Me.

Dr. Desiderio Gayapa Jr., AMRO president, said the screening for the potential patients was held yesterday from 8 a.m. until noon at the Perpetual Succour Hospital. Gayapa said surgery will start today.

He said they are still accepting potential patients.
