GUAGUA – The provincial government of Pampanga has started to distribute financial assistance amounting to P28.6 million to Grade 12 students of the province.
Vice-Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda led the distribution to 11,463 public school students from Guagua, Lubao, Floridablanca, Porac, and Sta. Rita towns. Each student gets P2,500.
The vice-governor advised the students to stay away from illegal drugs and cherish the opportunity to study.
“Remember that addiction to illegal drugs will get you nowhere. Do not compromise the opportunity given to you and always be thankful to your parents and your teachers for the gift of knowledge,” he said.
Pineda also met Myla Lansangan, a differently-abled student from Diosdado Macapagal Memorial High School in Floridablanca town. The vice-governor pledged to pay for Lansangan’s full tuition in college until she finishes her studies.
Lansangan lost her enthusiasm to study because of her condition but was given another chance by Pineda. She is now planning to take up a computer programming course.
The students were also given free tickets to the Lubao International Balloon Festival. (Pampanga PIO)
