CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The LausGroup Event Centre (LGEC), touted as Central Luzon’s biggest event center, is the venue for the Miss Philippines Earth 2018 swimsuit parade and resort wear competition set for April 21.

This is the second time that Carousel Productions, Inc. (CPI), the official organizer of the pageant, collaborated with the LGEC for the said preliminary competition.

Last October, LGEC was also chosen as the venue for the Miss Earth International event wherein 25 delegates from across the globe graced the center stage.

This time, over 50 Filipina hopefuls will represent their respective cities and provinces at the same venue to vie for the title and represent the country to the Miss Earth pageant.

During the contract signing between CPI and the Laus Group of Companies Monday, March 12, reigning Ms. Philippines Earth 2017 Karen Ibasco noted that she was “really impressed” upon seeing the modern convention center.

“The moment I stepped inside, I felt like I am in an event center outside the country. It was really grand yet welcoming, and I’m very excited to witness the new breed of Miss Philippines-Earth candidates own their moment here at the LGEC,” she said.

Laus Group of Companies executive director Carisa Laus also shared the same excitement as she relayed that the LausGroup is very privileged to partner with the CPI for the pre-pageant activity.

“The last Miss Earth pre-pageant held here was a success and I do believe that this upcoming swimsuit parade and resort wear competition will be as successful as the last time. We are proud to welcome the latest batch of candidates from the Philippines and show them what the LGEC and the province of Pampanga is all about,” she quipped.

“Also, we are very delighted that the Kapampangans, as well as our kababayans from this side of the region, will also be able to witness first-hand this international pageant which we usually just see on TV. In behalf of the management of LGEC, we are always eager on bringing international events like concerts and shows here at the countryside,” she added.

Miss Philippines Earth, originally called “Miss Philippines” in its early years, is a Filipino national beauty pageant held annually in search of the most beautiful and environmentally-friendly woman in the Philippines.

The title holders of the said pageant dedicate their year to promote environmental projects and address issues concerning the environment.

The Miss Philippines Earth 2018 Coronation Night has been scheduled for May 19 at the Mall of Asia arena.
