Police nab 10 in separate drug busts

AS PART of the continuous and intensified campaign against illegal drugs, the Pampanga Police Provincial Office (PPPO) arrested 10 personalities in separate drug busts conducted Tuesday, March 13.

According to PPPO director Senior Superintendent Joel Consulta, the suspects were arrested in the municipalities of Guagua, Lubao, Sasmuan, Minalin and Porac and Mabalacat City through the joint efforts of provincial and local police forces.

In Lubao town, police apprehended one suspect identified as Alfie Avelino, 29, after he sold a sachet of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, during a buy-bust operation conducted on Gomburza Street, Barangay Sta. Cruz.

Confiscated from his possession were four more sachets of suspected shabu, two aluminum foil strips, a lighter and the P500 marked money used in the operation.

Operatives of Sasmuan police conducted a buy-bust operation in Barangay Sta. Lucia which resulted in the arrest of one Aljon Mendoza, 28, and recovery of supplemental evidence including six medium sachets of suspected shabu, and P500 marked money.

Diosdado Cuenco, 10th most wanted personality in Porac, was arrested in an entrapment operation conducted in Cecilia Village in Barangay Sta. Cruz of the said town. Confiscated from his possession were five sachets of suspected shabu and P500 marked money.

Adrian Paul Fernando, 30, and a 17 year-old boy were arrested in Guagua town while another suspect identified as Glenn Lugtu was nabbed by Minalin police in separate anti-illegal drug operations conducted in the two municipalities.

The operatives of Mabalacat City police arrested four suspected drug users, including the sixth most wanted drug personality in the city identified as Clarissa Calaguas, 28. The three others were named as Michael Bucud, 46, Crisostomo Medina, 68, and Joel Pangilinan, 50.

Police were also able to recover 17 sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P150,000 and various equipment used for repacking of illegal drugs.

Consulta commended the implementing teams behind the successful operations.

“With the continues successful operations against illegal drugs, we assure the public that the anti-illegal drugs campaign of Pampanga police will not stop until the last drug pusher in the province will be arrested,” Consulta said.
