DAVAO City, while known as one of the major urban centers in Mindanao, is also considered a major source of agricultural products and commodities.
In celebration of the bounty the city has to offer, an agriculture trade fair has been staged at the parking lot behind SM City Davao in Ecoland from February 27, Tuesday, to March 27, Tuesday, to gather all the small gardeners and farmers who will showcase their different products.
SM City Davao public relation officer Apple Legario said the event, dubbed as "The Farm & Garden Fair," is an annual trade event organized by the Floriculture Industry of Davao, Incorporation (FIDI).
The FIDI, in collaboration with the SM City Davao, Legario said, provides a platform for farm and garden enthusiasts to come together and showcase their products of plants, fruit trees, fruits, animals, outdoor furniture and wood crafts.
“Apart from the showcase of products, landscapes artists and dish garden enthusiast in Davao region also showcase their works,” Legario said.
There are 260 booths installed outside the mall and 100 exhibitors participated the event, she said, adding that most of these exhibitors have multiple booths.
With the fair, Legario said, they are able to provide a venue for the small gardeners and farmers to introduce their products and services to the public.
Legario said they believe that the fair has always attracted enthusiasts from Davao City, as well as the local and foreign visitors on various products and services that can be offered by any exhibitor.
