THE Davao City Police Office (DCPO) said in a statement that no untoward incident happened during the 81st Araw ng Dabaw Street Party last Saturday, March 17, despite the apprehension of three drunk men who were causing trouble.
Davao City Police Office City Director Police Superintendent Alexander Tagum said that the police had full control in the event's security.
He said that aside from the three men that were led outside of the crowd by members of his team, they did not notice any other irregularities.
The street party which was sponsored by Globe invited Tom Taus, a well-known disc jockey as its main highlight.
Thousands of Dabawenyos, young and old, enjoyed the foam party and the water sprayed by fire trucks.
The event ended around 12 midnight.
Many Dabawenyos who were not able to attend the street party watched live video at their homes through SunStar Davao's Facebook live.
The live video earned 1,600 likes and 796 shares, and 45,000 views as of Sunday afternoon, March 18. Many viewers were mostly overseas Filipino workers. Some also expressed how they missed their home place, Davao City.
Dabawenyos who stayed at home and watched live video, expressed how they regretted for not joining in the celebration.
