Over 400 Central Visayas police personnel promoted

MORE than 400 personnel of Police Regional Office (PRO) Central Visayas were donned with their new ranks Monday morning, March 19.

The ceremony, led by PRO Central Visayas Director Chief Superintendent Robert Quenery, was held in Camp Sergio Osmeña, the regional police office in Cebu City.

Quenery said a police career is a vocation.

Chief Supt. Franklin Moises Mabanag, deputy regional director for administration, said 83 police commissioned officers and 321 police non-commissioned officers passed the second semester second level regular promotion program last year.

A total of 1,039 personnel (84 PCOs and 955 PNCOs) applied for promotion.

"I would like to...inspire each and every one of you to continuosuly tread in the right direction," Mabanag said in his speech.

Supt. Randy Korret, Liloan police chief, said he waited for three years and three months before he got his promotion.

“I have to continue what I have started here,” said Korret, who had a rank of chief inspector when he was appointed as Liloan police chief.

For his part, Quenery said a police career is a vocation, not just a career.

“Your new rank symbolizes greater glory and greater challenges,” he said.

The police official encouraged his personnel to continue to strive to do their best.

“Let’s strengthen our commitment of selfless service to the public with firm and efforts in efficiency, competence, and responsibility,” Quenery said. (KAL)
