2 motorcycle riders die in Bacolod road accidents

TWO motorcycle riders died in separate road accidents in Bacolod City over the weekend.

On March 17, Reynaldo Tibaba, 51, of San Esteban Homes at Zone 12-A in Talisay City, died after he was ran over by a trailer truck loaded with sugarcane along the Circumferential Road in Barangay Taculing around 2:50 a.m.

Investigation showed that the truck, driven by Rodolfo Caraballe, 54, of Talisay City, was bumped by Tibaba's motorcycle.

Tibaba fell to the ground, then got ran over by the truck.

Caraballe is detained at Police Station 6.

On March 18, a man died, while his companion was injured after the motorcycle they were riding hit the rear portion of a trailer truck that was parked on Alijis-Mansilingan Road in Barangay Mansilingan around 4 a.m.

As of Sunday night, March 18, police have yet to identify the two male victims.

Chief Inspector Ramel Sarona, head of Police Station 7, said the speeding motorcycle was on its way to Murcia town when the accident happened.

The driver died on the spot due to head injuries, while his companion was brought to a hospital.

Sarona said the victims probably did not see the truck as the area was not well-lighted.

Also, the truck has no early warning device.

Sarona said they were able to reach the truck owner but the driver who parked and left the vehicle has yet to be identified.
