More than a thousand cops to secure Lubao balloon fest

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Police Regional Office (PRO)-Central Luzon disclosed on Wednesday that more than a thousand police officers have been deployed to secure the Lubao International Balloon and Music Festival 2018 in Pradera Verde, Prado Siongco, Lubao town from March 23 to 25.

PRO-Central Luzon director Chief Superintendent Amador V. Corpus said that as early as March 22, a composite team from SWAT and EOD/K-9 teams, plus other augmentation troops, will oversee security and order during the three-day hot air balloon and music festival where thousands of local and foreign tourists are expected to attend the annual crowd drawer.

“We have laid out our security plan for this grand event as early as last month to ensure a zero incident. I can say that we are geared up in implementing our public safety campaign for its entire duration just like what we did in Clark, Pampanga last month,” Corpus said.

The regional police chief added that public cooperation is needed in preventing any untoward incident during the balloon and music fest.

“I am calling for public cooperation by providing authorities relevant and timely information to prevent any untoward incident in this festivity through PRO-3 hotline 0998-8838327 and 0917- 5562597,” said Corpus. (JTD)
