Top drug pusher in Davao Occidental faces raps

A SUSPECTED notorious drug pusher is facing charges before the Provincial Prosecution Office in Davao Occidental for selling illegal drugs in Don Marcelino town.

Facing charges for violation of the Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, is Violino Bancil Salandron, alias Nono, 37, of the same town.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) public information officer Nephi Noli Dimaandal said Salandron is placed at the top five in the provincial high-valued target lists.

Operatives of the PDEA with Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Davao and Don Marcelino Municipal police nabbed Salandron in a drug-bust operation in Barangay Kinanga in Don Marcelino on Tuesday afternoon.

Dimaandal said the suspect was arrested after he handed one plastic sachet, containing white crystalline believed to be a shabu, to an agent who posed as a buyer.

Recovered from the possession of the suspect were plastic sachet of suspected shabu; P1,000 drug-bust money; and one bundle of Cannabis Sativa L, commonly known as marijuana—weighing about 700 grams, wrapped in a paper.

Salandron is currently detained at the PDEA jail facility, while the seized suspected illegal drugs were submitted to Laboratory Service of the office for qualitative and quantitative examination.
