3 lose P80,000 to robbers

THREE loan officers of a finance company were robbed with cash amounting to P80,000, and gadgets by three unidentified men on a motorcycle at Purok 1, Barangay Cabacungan, La Castellana, Negros Occidental on Tuesday.

Chief Inspector Irma Teoxon, town police chief, said the three victims, whose names were withheld, were having a meeting at their office in the village for cash collection when two of the three Cebuano-speaking robbers approached them and threatened them at gunpoint.

The robbers carted away their cash, three cellular phones, and 20 passbooks while their other companion served as a lookout.

The perpetrators escaped heading towards the neighboring Canlaon City in Negros Oriental.

Teoxon said they already have a witness that can identify the perpetrators.

Follow-up operation is ongoing. (GYM/SunStar Bacolod)
