THE 10th Phoenix Open Golf Tournament, powered by Phoenix PULSE Technology, is a fundraising event of Phoenix Petroleum, for the benefit of the Phoenix Philippines Foundation and its projects on education, environment, health and safety, outreach, and other future initiatives.

One such project of the PPF is the Phoenix Adopt-A-School program. Stated in their website, ‘Since 2008, Phoenix Philippines Foundation has also been helping schools through the Phoenix Adopt-A-School program, a partnership with the Department of Education to donate school books and teaching materials and contribute to teachers’ salaries to schools across the country. During the Christmas season, Phoenix employees visit their adopted schools as well as schools nearby their depots to spend time with the students.’

Last Christmas, 4,000 children were given Christmas gifts like school backpacks and educational books. My family, the Clan of former Mayor Leon & Milagros Garcia also has a foundation, and we also have an annual gift giving activity with school children. Our annual Christmas event caters to about 100 schoolchildren per year, if i am not mistaken. But, OMG, the Phoenix Petroleum family caters to 4,000 children! That is a whole lot more.

Thank you Phoenix Philippines Foundation for your generosity and thank you for your support with our children. The gift-giving is just one project of the PPF. They have so many more, and plenty of beneficiaries.

So, for those who joined the company’s recent tournament, including me, even though many of us did not win anything, our participation was definitely for a good cause. We helped in making children happy. Smile na rin kayo.

It is time to make your own kid happy, or your wife. Give that JBL Trip bluetooth speaker, the tournament’s giveaway prize, to your favorite kiddo. By the way, it is worth $99.95 dollars. I have no kids. I am keeping mine!

Did you have so much fun like I did? Na-busog kayo while playing? Did you get better scores on those fairway carnival games than your actual golf game? Hahaha! Since I was not playing well, I was actually looking forward to the ‘pakulo’ of each fairway.

Jean Gotianse and I, along with Leo Palo and Tita Remy, were on the same flight. Jean and I were laughing and concentrating too.

We ate so much! On hole no. 14, I had 4 pieces of pork barbecue. We also had arrozcaldo, siopao, bibingka, buko, ice cream, bananas, and more. And at the awards night, OMG, fresh tuna sashimi, pork lechon and lechon baka, and more. Ummm, pinapa-gutom ko ba kayo? Thank you Anton Lopez for the bottle! Muah!

Raffle prizes. Macbook Air, Ipad 12inch, Ipad 10inch, newest models of the iphone, and more. And for the heavy heavy icing on the cake, and i was surprised myself—didn’t even know they were going to raffle off this item— they raffled off a brand new Tata Manza. Waaaaaa!!!!

Last Wednesday, I was invited to witness the official turnover of the Tata Manza, Present during the turnover were Co-Founder & Chairman Mr. Domingo T. Uy, Phoenix Petroleum Corp Affairs Mgr Mr. Ben Sur, Tournament Organizer Ms. Liloh Evanglista, Tata Motors GM Mr. Benjamin Ramirez, Jr., and Tata Motors Sales Mgr Mr. Alex Tan.

And the lucky winner of the brand new Tata Manza plus P100,000 worth of Phoenix Petroleum Fuel cards is Mr. Pocholo Isabelo Reserva of Butuan City. Congratulations!

To the winners of the 10th Phoenix Petroleum Open Golf. Congratulations!

So many players wanted to join the tournament, but they had to limit the players to 200. So, in the next Phoenix Petroleum Golf tournament, try to register early.

Change topic. 1st JCI Open Golf Tournament is on March 24, Saturday, at Apo Golf Club. That is tomorrow. For more details, please call 0922 8048333 and 0917 1339969.
