AFTER nine days of fighting for his life, a man who was mauled by a group of teenagers in Barangay Quiot, Cebu City, died last March 20.
Quiot barangay captain Francis Espares identified the victim as Noel Radaza, a resident of Sitio Liberty.
The Homicide Section will amend the first case that was filed against the suspects from frustrated murder to murder.
Radaza was mauled by a group of teenagers who were in a drinking spree on the dawn of March 12. Clifford Gimenez, 18, surrendered accompanied by his mother.
He denied any involvement in the incident. He said that after Radaza was beaten up, the latter was chased by a certain Jomar.
The victim hit his head on the wall and fainted.
Gimenez also gave the names of five other suspects: Jessie Aguilar, Brix Espinosa, a certain Paulo, Jomar Redemio from Sitio Bogo, Quiot and a certain Brylle.
Senior Police Officer 1 Winston Ybañez said witnesses pointed to Gimenez, Aguilar and Redemio as the ones who mauled the victim.
Aguilar and Espinosa have also surrendered. Brylle has agreed to be a witness, while police are still looking for Redemio. (AYB/With JOB/SunStar Cebu)
