Village watchman shot dead

A VILLAGE watchman was shot to death by two unidentified men at Barangay Galicia in Ilog, Negros Occidental early Friday.

Killed was William Arellano, 47, of the said village.

Chief Inspector Nerito Lobrido, town police chief, said the victim was walking towards the barangay hall at 5:30 a.m. when he was waylaid by the assailants.

The assailants fired at him twice with a 12 gauge shotgun.

Arellano succumbed to two gunshot wounds to his chest and head.

Lobrido said they already have two persons of interest but refused to provide further details.

The investigation is still ongoing.
