THE security head of the Negros Occidental Provincial Capitol was elected as the Philippine Guardians Brotherhood Inc. national executive council representative for Western Visayas during their national assembly and convention held at the Teachers' Camp in Baguio City on March 22 to 24.
Venchito Magalona was the proponent of the proposed construction of a school library at the Carlos Hilado Memorial State College-Fortune Towne campus in Bacolod City worth P10 million.
Magalona said that during the election, Senator Gregorio Honasan II who was among the pioneer of Guardians was re-elected president; Senator Emmanuel Pacquiao, vice president for political affairs and Ambassador Eduardo Kapunan, vice president for administration.
PGBI is a people's organization that helps those in their need for burial assistance, scholarship grants, food assistance and other projects that have an impact on the needs of the poor.
In Negros Occidental, they have around 19,000 members while 1.8 million members all over the country.
They will soon have their executive committee conference in Cebu City.
