Theft cases in Iloilo City drop 70%

THE Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) posted significant decrease of 70 percent six theft cases on March 16 to 22 this year compared to 20 cases last year.

There was also a notable decrease in physical injuries to seven theft cases this year which was lower by 56.25 percent compared to the 16 cases last year.

There were a total of 16 index crimes, lower by 56.75 percent compared to 37 index crimes last year.

This year, ICPO recorded 61 crime incidents which was lower by 38.38 percent than the 99 incidents of the same period of last year.

ICPO operations Chief Superintendent Jowel Saliba reiterated to stations to strengthen police visibility in their areas of jurisdiction especially in places of convergence this summer season.

The police office conducted 53 check point operations and 34 saturation drive wherein they were able to reach out to 33 minors relative to the implementation of curfew ordinance during the same period this year. (PR)
