Drug bust nets Zambo Sibugay village official

POLICEMEN backed by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents have arrested a village official in an anti-illegal drug operation in Zamboanga Sibugay, an official said Tuesday.

Chief Superintendent Edwin de Ocampo, deputy regional director for administration (DRDA), identified the arrested official as Abdulraup Akmad, the village councilor of Poblacion, Malangas town.

De Ocampo said Akmad was arrested in a drug bust at 1:55 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, at Purok Maabi-abohon, Poblacion village.

He said seized from Akmad were three heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride).

He said the village official was detained in preparation for the filing of appropriate charges against him. (SunStar Philippines)
